We do not have a complete selection of issues for the year and the transcriptions are in process. As they are transcribed they will be added site. We hope you enjoy reading the issues we have and we hope you find the name of someone from your family. You may select the issue you wish to read by clicking on the issue date in the table below.
Since these articles are transcribed by volunteers we can not guarantee they are 100% accurate but our volunteers are very good and make few mistakes. Some spelling may seem incorrect (and it is by today standards) none the less we have copied the information just as it was in the newspaper. Since we are also only transcribing information from a newspaper the accuracy of the information itself is only as good as the newspaper from which it is taken. Please check all information against primary documents and choose what to keep for yourself.
A Compact Disk (CD) containing the actual images in JPEG format of the scrapbook pages containing these articles may be purchased from the Jefferson County Genealogical Society. Please refer to the JCGS page on this site for further information.
An index of all the articles for each year, containing over 10,000 names, will eventually be available. You will reach that index by clicking the INDEX link at the beginning of the table below. This index will not be searched by the Search Engine on the Main Page of this site since it is an index of names in alphabetic order and the transcribed pages are searched by our search engine. Meanwhile, the search engine on our main page will search these issues or you may search each issue of the paper by using your "Find in page" button under the "Edit" button on your browser. Good luck in your research.
