B. Frank Hedges, age 85, rural Oakville, died Monday, March 13, 1995 at the
Burlington Medical Center.

The son of Ben and Lola (McCreary) Hedges, he was born August 28, 1909 at
Yarmouth, Iowa.

On June 21, 1937, he married Aneita Velma Johnson at Davenport, Iowa; she died
November 9, 1990.

He was a graduate of the Huron High School and the Burlington Junior College;
he also completed his studies at the Von Hoffman Air School in St. Louis,
Missouri; during W.W. II he spent time working in Railway Mail Service.

He was a member of the first United Presbyterian Church of Mediapolis.

He had been county chairman for the Des Moines County Farm Bureau; served as
both secretary and treassurer for the Huron High Schoool Board until it
consolidated with Mediapolis; was secretary of Number 7 Drainage District; had
been a township trustee for 20 years; was past Master of Progress Masonic
Lodge # 226 and was past Patron of O.E.S.; was a member of Des Moines County
Historical and Genealogical Societies.

He was a farmer,living and farming the place his great grandfather settled in
1835.

Survivors: 1 son, Frank (Sandy) Hedges of rural Oakville, 3 grandsons; 2 great
granddaughters; 2 great-great granddaughters; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 1 sister.

Burial: Hawkeye Cemetery.
