Queries: Central West Virginia Familes
Rules and How-Tos
HCPD has chosen to use
GenConnect
to post queries to our page. Before following the link to our GenConnect page,
please read these suggestions for posting queries.
- Queries should be for specific research problems. General queries
like: "Researching SMITH in Lewis County" are not "good" queries.
- Include dates and places where possible. Use ca., circa, or about
dates when in doubt.
- Capitalize all surnames.
- Use standard genealogical abbreviations: b = born; d = died; m =
married; d/o = daughter of; s/o = son of; bur = buried; bapt. = baptised;
etc.
- See the first few queries on our
GenConnect
board for examples.
You may view our "old" queries (1997, 1998, and some from 1999) by
clicking here.
HCPD Members, please note that these queries will only be published on
the Internet and not included in the Hacker's Creek Journal. HCPD
members who wish to have their queries published in the HCJ should contact
Joy.
