LORD, Luther Hiram
b. 3 Jun 1926, Jackson County, Ga.
d. 5 Jan 1982, Augusta, Richmond County, Ga.
Buried Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was in the Battle for the Philippines and was in the first group of soldiers that entered Japan. After being released in 1945, he was recalled to action when the Korean War started. He worked at the Fort Gordon Army Base and was head of the Motor Pool Transportation Division when he retired. His parents were Dee Washington Lord, Sr. and Addie Jane Gee Lord, both from Jackson County, Georgia.
