UPSON COUNTY, GA - Court - Apprenticeship Benjamine F. Kilagru to Martha Ann Green

These articles, made this 18th day of August, 1874.
Witnesseth, that Sarah A. Kilagru of the first part
and Martha Ann Greene of the second part has this
day applied to W. S. Oliphant Judge of County Court
of said County, to have a certain child named
Benjamine F. Kilagru who is now about five years
old, bound and apprenticed unto the said Martha Ann
Green until said Benjamine F. Kilagru arrives at the
full age of twenty one years. Now, the said
Benjamine F. Kilagru shall well and faithfully
demean himself as such apprentice during said term,
obeying and fully observing the commands of said
Martha Ann Greene and in all things deporting and
behaving himself as a faithful apprentice should do,
and is not to leave or absent himself from the
services of employ of said Martha Ann Green without
her consent, not to marry or contract matrimony
during said term without the consent of said Martha
Ann Greene.
And the said Martha Ann Greene upon her part, agrees to clothe, feed, and maintain the said Benjamine F. Kilagru during the said term, and to furnish him sufficent medical attention in case he is sick; shall teach him habits of industry, morality, and honesty; and cause him to be taught tot read English; and shall also teach him the business of farming and also will pay the said Benjamine F. Kilagru at the expiration of the said term, a small allowance with which to begin life, not less than one hundred dollars, to be adjudged of by the Ordinary or Judge of the County Court, according to the merits and fidelity of said apprentice.
In witness wherof the said Sarah Ann Kilagru and Martha Ann Greene hath hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of:
