- MCGRAW, MARY SHATTLES
She was the daughter of John and Barbara Blackwelder Shattles of Upson
Co, GA. She married John McGraw, 9 Nov 1831, in Upson Co,
GA. They had children: David W., William M, Joseph B, James, and
Barbary Ann. John McGraw died in May 1850 in Talbot Co. No
will has been found, but estate papers are in Upson Co. Archives.
Mary was on the 1850 Census of Talbot Co, GA, District 23 with
James and Barbary, and her older two sons were living 2 doors down with
Levi and Leannah Smith. Mary Shattles McGraw was listed on the 1852
Talbot Poor School's List, 902 Military District or Miller's
District. Three children were list: Joseph, James, and Barboy Ann
(sic). Am seeking information on this family. Barbara Ann and
Joseph moved to Meriwether Co, GA and William to Upson Co.GA. We
have no further information on MARY SHATTLES MCGRAW. Is it possible she
remarried? (Brenda Shattles Fohlmeister email at uwe1275@yahoo.com).

MYERS, George Bruce I'm searching for a Will,
estate settlement, burial place, or named children for George Bruce Myers/Miers/Miars,
etc. He was born Darlington Dist., SC ~1789, married and went to Elbert Co. Ga.
1810-1830, sold a lot in Meriwether Co. in 1837, was in 1840 Harris Co. Census,
was probably in Talbot Co. in the 1850 census listed as George M. Myers living
with Stephensons, and was listed as a Mason in Grand Lodge of Georgia 1854 in
Union Lodge No 128, Quito, Talbot County where the records later burned. He may
have had a daughter Nancy who was married to preachers Silas Dobbs and James
Rainwater who were in Meriwether and Campbell Co., Ga. 1840-1870. George Bruce
Myers may have died in any of these counties but probably in Talbot Co. Thank
you for any help.

- RAGAN, JAMES In the 1840 census of Talbot County my
greatgreatgreatgrandfather James Ragan is listed with some of his
children. That is the last record I have found him in.
His wife Elizabeth (Decker) Ragan and some of his
children were in Harris County in 1850; also living in the home was her sister
Nancy Decker. Talbot County was home for many of my
ancestors. James Mason family and also Isaac
Copeland. If anyone has any information on James Ragan of
Talbot County it would be greatly appreciated.
