William Edwards b. NC? was a sister-in-law to Blanche Butler.  Edwards was a Capt. in the Rev. War and is sometimes referred to as Capt. Edwards.  Edwards gave Blanche a deed of gift to move her children and slaves from Washington Co. to Screven Co.  The document is dated Dec. 1801.  She is referred to as "my beloved sister-in-law, Blanche Palmer, wife of Samuel Palmer of Screven Co." on the document.  How is Edwards and Blanche related?

I also have a James M Wilson. He was born 11 April 1803 near Wilmington, NC. He married Mariam SIMMONS in Screven County 10 July 1826. It is thought he was in Screven at age 17 by about 1820.

John Freeman, Millwright.  Two John Freemans in Screven at the same time. One was a Toll Bridge operator (not mine).. Most of my Freemans moved to Wilkinson County about 1835 .  John Freemen was a Rev. War soldier(I think).

Britton Price b. middle of the 1700's.  My ancestor Jane Price who married James Nesmith 111 was thought to be his dau.  He died in Wilkinson Co.

May 21, 1902 at the home of Berry Jenkins in Screven Co. She was the
granddaughter of Stephen and Clarisy Crews. Stephen was in SC and Echols, Ga
before settling in Screven Co. I would like to know which Crews daughter was
Della's mother . Della had a half brother by name of Herschell Hurst.Henry
and Della buried at McDonald Baptist Church.

My primary research is the SCOTT's from Screven, along with some allied names like Reeves/Rieves, Cox, etc. My distant cousin, Walter "Scottie" Scott is listed.Our common Screven ancestors were brothers, William and James Scott, there abt 1800. James died there early 1830's; William moved/died in Decatur Co, Ga 1834. His family that did not stay in Screven moved across the border to Jackson Co, Fla by 1840. I always look forward to postings on the Screven site ( ever look at the massive Jackson Co, Fla gen web site ? many northeast Ga/Screven area families moved to Gasden and Jackson Co. in 1830's/40's

Proctor d. 1931. John Mose reportedly left Ireland at age 16 with two brothers and arrived in Savannah. After Civil War, he and son Johnny left Savannah and went into Burke County where they married two sisters (Proctor's) who lived near Perkins.
