About Heard County
(Location: 33.2996 N, 85.1292 W)

The area now known as Heard County was created in 1830 from the Counties of Carroll, Coweta and Troup. Heard County takes its namesake from Governer Stephen Heard. The Cabin pictured here is known as the Davis Cabin. It is the site where the very first Heard County govern-
