jpeacock01@yahoo.com I am trying to research my husbands side of the family and I am having no luck with the Roach side. Please help. This is what I know, my husbands mother is Mary Nell Roach married Hollis Lorenzo Peacock b:11-29-22 d:7-23-95. Mary Nell aka Missy was the daughter of Roach and Grimes. Missy has sibilings by the name of, Earlie Mae (Little), Ola (Bud Hart), Margaret (J.D. Brown), George, P.A. and I know there are some half sibilings but not sure of the names. I know that somehow she is related to just about everyone that lives near her in Century/Byrneville Fl. The Sims, Girmes, Bells, Nelsons, Gibsons, Johnsons, and many many more. Earlie Mae had two children Larry and Renea Little. Margaret and J.D. Brown had several children, Charlie who married Pam Campbell and had Jolene (all of who still live in Century), there is also a Ronnie Paul Brown and Obe Brown. I know that they are related but the details are not sketchy. If any of this rings a bell please let me know. This is a huge brick wall and I can not seem to break it. Thanks, Jodi Nellums Peacock |

| SCROGGINS | Date: 1/18/2004 1:18:45 PM Eastern Standard Time sdbrashr@bellsouth.net S Brasher I am looking for any information on my grandmother Barnett Scroggins born in Forysth County in 1899. Any information would be appreciated. The only information I have is that she was born in Forsyth County GA in March 1899. I believe she was the daughter of Roxy Scoggins (possible unmarried at the time of her birth). Roxy (Roxie) Scroggins born 1877 was the daughter of Thomas and Emeline Scroggins from Chestatee GA. When Thomas Scroggins died round 1880-1885 his wife Barbary Emeline married William Henry Farmer. I found an article that Roxie married W. H. Mathis is 1905 in New Bridge. I believe Barnett was raised by a John and Mary Chambers in New Bridge in Forsyth Co. GA. When John Chambers died Mary Quinn Chambers married George M Bennett. Around 1918 Barnett Scroggins married my grandfather Walter A. Nix. |

Their son, John David Smith was born on 25 Oct 1895 in Forsyth County. He married in 1919 in S.C. and died there in 1965. I am looking for information on Richard Smith born approx. 1840. His
son James Beauregard Smith was born in 1863 in Forsyth Cty., Ga. He married
Frances Castleberry (dtr. of David and Nancy). James and Frances had a son
John David Smith born in 1895 in Forsyth Cty. They moved to SC in 1901. James
died in 1941 in SC. I have been unable to find ANY information on RICHARD
SMITH. James' obituary lists his parents as Mr. & Mrs. Richard Smith.
It says that James lived in Forsyth Cty. for approx. 40 years and was a member
of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. It also says that James had a half brother,
Walter Stewart. Can anyone please help me find out anything on Richard? Dates? Wife? This is the last piece of the puzzle for my Smith family genealogy project and I am desperate to complete it. Thanks so much for your help! Jeanne Smith Chellis |
