They are shown as last name of WONTESS when the correct last name is WINTERS. Another is not listed at all, my Great Grandfather, Leander WINTERS, enlisted on March 20, 1862 at Trenton, GA. I know he was alive in 1881 when my Grandfather was born. I have all of the documents from the National Archives."
*** Note 2 Joe Rockholt writes "My great grandfather was Jason Rockholt, a Private assigned to B Company, 6th Georgia Infantry. On your Muster Roll of Company B, 6th Georgia Infantry, Jason Rockholt is listed as having been killed at Sharpsburg, Md. Sept. 17, 1862. He was not killed only injured and taken as a prisoner of war. He was released later. He then returned to his unit (6th Georgia Infantry) and served until the end of the war. He was discharged in Chester, SC 5 May 1865. He lived until January 1906."
