1820 COLUMBIA COUNTY, GEORGIA CENSUS
(White Heads of Household and Some Free Blacks Only - Slave Population Numbers not Transcribed)
Transcribed by Suzanne Forte ( suzanneforte@bellsouth.net ) July 2005
Copyright 2005 - Suzanne Forte - All Rights Reserved
Transcribers notes: There are 28 pages (census images) for the 1820 Columbia County Census. Beginning with Page 25 through page 53. There was no page 48 on the microfilm.
This census includes only full names of the head of each household. Others living in the household are listed as male or female, and within certain age groups. With a few exceptions, free blacks are also listed by gender and age group, no names. There are less than 12 free blacks with names actually listed, these have also been transcribed.
The slave schedule portion of the census is also included on these same pages, again, no names, only male and females by age group. I have not included the number of males and females within each head of household. I intend to transcribe these at a later date, as well as the number of free blacks and slaves. However, if you need this information on the person you are researching, you may email me ( suzanneforte@bellsouth.net ) and I will provide you with that information. I will need the name of the person, and the page number from the census to do that.
You may use your "search" button to find people, or you can go to the index maintained by SK Publications. To do that, click HERE.
