There is a charm in the very name of
Georgia; there is glory in every page of her
history;
there is a fascination in her literature;
there is a sense of unapproachable beauty in her natural resources, forests,
coasts, and fields.
There is a spell in her climate. We
know the beauty of her genial sky.
There is not in Georgia a mountain,
plain, or river, we do not love.
We look back over her most glorious
history from the time of Oglethorpe with pride.

An Amendment to the Georgia Constitution, approved
by the Georgia General Assembly on August 14, 1920, created the County of
Brantley, and designated Hoboken,
Ga. as its first county site. Three years later, after a vote of the people,
and numerous court battles, the Georgia Supreme Court changed the county
site to Nahunta, nine miles east, across "fire tower ridge," and
west of the sunrise coming across Glynn Co.
