11/28/1838 Bond of Michael Usina City Marshal and Clerk of the Market

Known all men by these presents that re Michael Usina, are held and firm bound unto the city of St. Augustine in the Sum of one thousand dollars good and lawful money of the US. .....
The condition of this obligation is such, that whereas Michael Usina has been appointed by the Mayor and Alderman of the City of St. Augustine. City Marshall and Clerk of the Market for said City. Now therefore if the said Michael Usina shall will and faithfully execute the duties of said office of City Marshal and Clerk of the Market agreeable to the ordinance now in force or which may hereafter be in force then this obligation shall be void, otherwise to be and remain in full force and effect.

Gentlemen pursuant of an ordinance creating the office of City Marshal I beg leave to offer myself as a candidate to fill the same - I will execute and do the duties of City Marshal as fair as is published in the ordinance creating the office of City Marshal for the price of four hundred dollars per year payable quarter yearly the corporation to allowing me the manure that is collected through the city... I beg leave to offer myself a Candidate for the office of City Marshal the duties of which office I will faithfully perform for the sum of 300 dollars per annum. I also beg leave to state that in case of my being appointed to said office my services will I trust be perfectly satisfactory to your Honorable body.

I off myself as candidate for the office of City Marshall to the corporation of St. Augustine and will perform the duties thereof for the sum of Three Hundred and twenty four dollars per annum.
I will give the security required by said corporation for the faithful performance of the duties of said office of city marshal.
