returning to do "Civil War - Music and Family Letters" Carl will tie Civil War music with his real family letters from the War, giving us an insight to the life and times of being a part of the War. |

17 May - Lette Pascoe - "Who or What
was Here Before the McMullen's and the Booths" Lette is the park naturalist for Boca Ciega Millennium Park. Fossils have been found at the park and she will bring examples. |
21 Jun - "How Do You Do That?" This program will be a how to for using the digital camera for capturing records. The second part of the program will be a demonstration for enhancing pictures with the free software Picasa 2. Presenters will be Bob Bryan and Sally Brown. |

The Computer Interest Group
meets at 9:45 AM before the general meeting in the Jenkins auditorium in the
Largo Library.

Computer Interest Group (CIG) or Computers in Genealogy group,
meets at 9:45 A.M. in the Jenkins Assembly Conference Room on the third
Saturday of each month just before the regular PGS meeting throughout the
year. This forum is an informal discussion group in a question and answer
format on anything related to the use of computers in genealogy. Typical
subjects include: new websites, email problems, using digital cameras,
scanners, downloading files and finding them on your computer, genealogy
software programs, etc. There is no fee and all levels of computer
expertise are welcome. If you would like more information or would like to
become a member of the e-mail discussion list, please contact

enthusiasts meet on the first Saturday of each month, September through
May, at 10:00 AM in the Jenkins
Assembly Conference Room in the lobby of the
Largo Library. Each session lasts

There is no fee for this workshop, but donations to the Greater Largo Library Foundation for support of the New Library Building Fund are appreciated. INTRODUCTION TO ROOTS MAGIC (Roots Magic is a genealogy computer program similar to PAF and Family Tree Maker. Although all of them have some similarities, they also have some differences. This meeting will explore what RM has to offer. If there is enough interest in this topic, a regular users group meeting may grow out of it. It is truly the basics of getting information from first sources and understanding the various forms use to record that information.
