| Fore-Kin Trails Genealogical
Society was organized in March 1981 and incorporated January 1982. Our
purpose is to promote interest in genealogical research, to share knowledge
and resources, to locate and preserve records, and to assist in the
expansion of genealogical materials in the Montrose area. Our society
is a member of the Colorado Council of Genealogical Societies. Meetings are held at the Montrose Public Library on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. except August and December. |

| Membership: Annual
membership (Jan.-Dec.) dues are $15.00 per individual or $20.00 per family
at one address. A calendar year subscription ( four issues) to our
quarterly journal, "The Uncompahgre Valley Chronicle" is included in
the membership fee. The journal is published in February, May, August,
and November. A surname index for the year is included in the November

The Society charges $15.00 per hour plus costs of photocopying and postage for basic research in local repositories (Montrose Public Library, Family History Center, Montrose County courthouse, etc.) and Society publications and indexes. The hourly charge will be prorated for time less than one hour. The charges are due and payable even if the search does not produce the particular information you seek.
