WELCOME! Broomfield is
located in the Metropolitan Denver area, between Denver and Boulder on
Highway 36
The Broomfield Genealogy Society
was organized in April, 2000. Our purpose is to promote interest in
genealogy; educate our members and the interested public in genealogy
research; encourage and instruct members in genealogical research through
careful documentation and the maintenance of quality genealogical
standards; to locate, preserve, and index public and private genealogical
records, especially those in Broomfield, and to make those records
available to the general public.
MEETINGS: Meetings are
held on the
3rd Tuesday of each month (except July & August), 7PM, at the Broomfield Senior
Center, 280 Lamar. Each meeting consists of a short business meeting and a
program. The public is invited. Dues are $12.00 per year for individuals,
$14.50 per year for a family membership. Questions may be directed to one of
the officers.

The United States has a
long history of registering aliens. This lecture will discuss when and
where alien registrations were taken, information found in the records,
and how to access them.
Julie
is a genealogy researcher, lecturer, and writer. She is the genealogy
columnist for the Broomfield Enterprise.

Bruce Stotts.
This program will
discuss Bruce's experience
with

testing; what

DNA
in
the human species and how does it work; and what
and how genealogical information is derived from

and a look at the future.
Bruce is a retired
electrical engineer and treasurer of the Broomfield Genealogy Society.

Travel'n Music Please: On the Road for Family History" presented by Lou-Jean
Rehn, CG.

do you want to go? What do you want to do? Visit a courthouse, library, or
cemetery. Meet a distant cousin, attend a family reunion, or stand on the
old family farm. A road trip for family history can be productive and fun
or a disaster. Learn some tips, tricks, and stories that will help make
your trip a success.
