Welcome to the Merced County Genealogy Society. The Society was organized in 1983 by seven dedicated  ladies and has now grown more than 130 members. We welcome you to use our site resources in your research.

Our genealogy collection is housed in the new Doris Cochran Research Room in the Merced County Library.  Access to Heritage Quest and Ancestry.com are now available in the research room to our members.

Please consider joining the MCGS.  In addition to having access to Heritage Quest and Ancestry.com, members receive a monthly newsletter – The Family Snoop. We meet on the 3d Saturday of each month where we provide a program of genealogical interest to members and guests. Please contact us with questions or suggestions and good luck in your research.
