Daniel Rupp, Baltimore Genealogical Publishing Company 1965 This book lists mainly the ships landing here in the time frame written and all males who signed the ship's registry upon getting on the ship. There are some entries for property owners also listed. DS4

Frederick Lewis Weis, Clearfield Company (reprinted from the Genealogical Publishing Co, Inc, 1978) reprint date 1995. An Alphabetical listing of hundreds of early members of the Clergy. Very helpful if a person is trying to trace the "footsteps" of a circuit rider or early minister. List by years each church served as well a location. The people in this book are from the years 1628-1776. In many cases it list the parents names and date/place of birth as well as date and place of death. All of the churches that this minister was associated with are listed by the year. There is no mention of a wife and family however. SW5

Very detailed passenger lists - Henry Marjorum and Elizabeth, his wife of Cheverell in the County of Wilts, husbandman. Arrived in the "Bristol Merchant," the Mrs.name Wm. Smith, in the 12th Mo.,1682. Lists of early Moravian Congregations to Pennsylvania. Unusual bonus, most of the lists in the book include the Wife's name. Lists of indentured servants provides a look into life at that time. Oct. 3rd, 1745, "Samuel Powell, (son of Mary Powell) binds himself by consent of mother, apprentice to William Moode, shoemaker, for seven years and five months from this date, and is to have nine months schooling at writing and reading, and at the expiration of his time one complete suit of new apparel." "Lineage of Lorentz Matz the Immigrant: Descendants and Related Families." S.E. Kantner, 1987. This 300 page book on the descendants of Lorentz and Barbara Matz of Wankheim, Germany from the 17th century, was written from information obtained by Miss Anna Matz (1894-1979)from the early 1940s through the 1970s, with 10 more years of detailed follow-up research conducted by the author. It contains the names of over 6000 individuals connected to the Matz descendancy, most of whom find their roots in the Berks County region of Pennsylvania after the 1750s. Only about 200 copies of this book were printed. I am related to the author of this book, and although I don't know if she still actively collects information related to the Matz surname (or its ancestral, descendant and collateral connections), I will forward all new information or inquiries I am unable to answer to her. Some early Burials of those related to the McKee Family: McKee, Sill, Hendrickson, Penny, Wampler, Huey, and one Revlutionary War Soldier "Thomas Clark Burried with Military honers in 1842." In 1857 this cemetery became the one that was commonly used for the town of McKeesport until 1895 when all were moved and this site was built upon. RP5

Primarily, this is a history of the county, its geography, its towns, organizations, etc. But, there is a section of bigraphical sketches of a few prominent individuals. Mostly prominent families of the Counties with excellent family information, including wives, children, occupation. Some pictures of the business's they founded, some institutions of historical interest. At least a 1000 surnames and subsequent histories. Will do lookups from this text upon request. ER4
