Foreword
The research collection of the British Isles Family History Society - U.S.A. is housed at the Los Angeles Regional Family History Center (LARFHC). Most of the materials in the collection were ordered from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, and are on permanent reserve. They are cataloged according to the classifications of the Family History Library Catalog (FHLC). Many of the books, microfilm and microfiche that were acquired from other sources have unique numbers applicable only to the LARFHC.
The British Isles Family History Society - U.S.A. is continuously acquiring new materials for the research collection. See our "What's New" Section for the latest acquisitions.
The following pages provide a selected list of holdings. The Society gratefully acknowledges the permission of Donald L. Hirst to use information provided in his submission to the 1996 BIFHS–USA Genealogical Research Seminar Syllabus. All comments, suggestions, or corrections should be addressed to Linda Jonas, who has compiled and annotated this Guide.
