FRYMIRE--I am researching the death of my father Gary Wayne Frymire. It is believed that he traveled to the Phoenix area from Washington State between March 4 2001 and April 15 2001. His body was discovered April 18 2001 in a hotel in
the Phoenix area. It is believed that he died by his own hand, via hanging using his own shoelace. He would be described as: 52 years old (looked older) Grey hair, balding in back 5'9" to 5'10" green eyes (blind in left) dob 4March 1949 possibly found wearing women's clothing. SCHMID--Burial site and obituary of Donald Schmid. My father served in the 328th Medical Battalion, which was part of the 103rd Infantry Division during World War II. One of the guys that served in his company was Donald C. Schmid. I have been searching for Mr. Schmid in hopes of finding him alive, but believe he is the Donald Schmid who died in Sun City West on July 9, 1991. Can anyone get me a copy of his obituary or at least the pertinent information in it to help me varify whether he is the Donald Schmid that I have been trying to locate? ESTER--Tom Ester - Arizona in 1913, probably Maricopa Co. Among my old family photos I¹ve found a very interesting one of this man and his horse. He has dismounted and is posing, with his Winchester, alongside a dead mountain lion. The reverse side has the handwritten notation, ³Tom Ester - Arizona in the year 1913.² The photo was probably taken in Maricopa County, but may have been taken in southern AZ in the Douglas area. WEIR/COMPTON/WILKEY--Hello, I'm looking for information about (Miss) Mary A. WEIR, class of 1932, Phoenix Union High School, Maricopa County. (I have her high school graduation announcement that she sent to my grandmother, Hester Marguerite WILKEY.)

Were her parents named Jesse A.WEIR (b. Jan. 1887, Indiana) and (poss.) Alta (?) WEIR? (And did Mary possibly have a brother named Wayne WEIR?) If she was the daughter of Jesse A. WEIR, then her paternal grandparents would have been James Nathan "Nate" WEIR (b. 14 May 1861, Indiana) and Sarrah Amagnia "Maggie" COMPTON (22 Aug. 1866, Sullivan Co., Indiana)? (I found Maggie's name listed as Margaret in her daughter Minnie Ellen's obituary--this was incorrect, although logical. I have proof that "Maggie" was in fact short for Amagnia.)

I do not know what happened to "Nate" and "Maggie" (COMPTON) WEIR. They moved to Phoenix area in the early 1930s from Livingston, Calif., but were both originally from Sullivan Co., Indiana. I'm guessing they moved to Phoenix to live near/with their eldest son, Jesse. One of their grandsons, Carl WILKEY (son of Minnie Ellen [WEIR] WILKEY), drove them to Phoenix. Supposedly this was somewhere near a place called "Camelback." I imagine they died there, because they were in/near their seventies when they moved to Phoenix, but I have no proof of their deaths.

Nate and Maggie WEIR were my g-g-grandparents. I'm hoping that if I can hook up with some descendants of Jesse WEIR, I may be able to find out what happened to them after they moved to Phoenix. Thank you very much, Kathleen (Kathy) Larson

SPOONER--Seeking information on John Dayer SPOONER. John was born in Wales 27 Dec 1843. Immigrated to America in 1854. Married Mary Eliza Holladay in Santaquin, Utah in 1870. Joined the Johnson family colonization of Tempe in 1880s. His sister Sarah Jane Spooner was wife of Benjamin Franklin Johnson. Last record I can find of him is in Nephi/Alma/Mesa Arizona area in 1886. Family record has a death date of Oct 22 or 23, 1914. Mary Eliza is my 3 gg grandmother; her daughter Maud married John Angus son of Benjamin Franklin Johnson. John's mother Ann Dayer Spooner Morely died in Tempe/Mesa. HOWE--Irving W. HOWE and his family of Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. Irving W. Howe, son of Herbert C. Howe and Elma Flora "Flora" Hoskinson, was born April 15, 1892 in Nebraska. Irving died in April, 1970 in Phoenix, AZ. He was married to Mabel. Mabel was born Oct. 29, 1891 and died in August, 1991. Irving owned "Howe Insurance Agency" in Spokane, Washington as of 1917, but Irving and Mabel Howe then moved to Portland, Oregon. Sometime after 1935 Irving and Mabel Howe moved to Phoenix, Arizona and died there. They had two children: Flora Howe, born 1915; and Ruth Howe, born 1920. Both Flora and Ruth got married, but I don't know their married names. I would be interested in exchanging information with any of Irving W. Howe's descendants or anyone researching the HOWE family.

TABER/HALL/JORDAN--I search for information about Evie Irene TABER, HALL, JORDAN: According to S.S.D.I. she died 23 Dec. 1980 Chandler , Az. She was born in Inola, Ok and married a HALL and lived in Phoenix in 1946, before marrying James David JORDAN in 1955 in El Agua Prieta, Mexico. I have not clue as to what happened to Mr. JORDAN. Daughter Shirley born 1956 in Bisbee, Az.

TANORI - Juan De Dios Tanori Married Juana Siqueiros Tanori. They had a son named Fermin Tanori. He married Canuta Martinez, daughter of Guadalupe Martinez and Maria Munguia. Fermin had a son named Jose Guadalupe Tanori Martinez. He married the daughter of Canuta Martinez, Porfiria Pina. So it appears that Jose and Porfiria were half brother and sister. A baptismal record for Jose is at the St. Augustine Cathedral dated December 1881. Jose, who used Guadalupe on most documents, and Porfiria had 5 living children. Adalia (1908), Raymond (1912), Julia (1914-My G'ma) Henry (1916). They were born in Maricopa County, Pheonix Arizona. Another daughter, Mary was born (1920) in California. All children have passed. Any information would help. We are trying to trace the Indian background if any.....Thank you so much!

ARGALL--I am conducting a One-name Study of ARGALL. I am interested in any ARGALL occurrences in Arizona - particularly Phoenix.

Specifically, I am trying to locate the parents of a Frank ARGALL who was supposidly born in Phoenix in 1901. I am also looking for a marriage to a (possibly) Olive ? who may have died in Phoenix around 1944 (is there an Obit?). Frank died in Paris Arkansas in 1949.

I have already found:

"1941 Phoenix City Directory published by Arizona Directory Co., page 47, left column is "Argall Frank (Olive) (spouse) tile contr (occupation - tile contractor) h (head of household - children under age 18 may be present) 1150 E Roosevelt (residence)". There is no phone shown, no employer for Frank, no occupation or employer for Olive, and the property is being rented. They may be found in the voter registration rolls of Maricopa".

I would welcome any help possible.

BALLOU--I am researching Lester LeVere Ballou, born about 1919 in Idaho and died in Tempe in the 80's, I think. I would like to contact any relatives to find out if a rare disease that my husband has been diagnosed with was common in the Ballou family, it may run in families, the doctors are not sure.
