Holroyd surname

title

The City of Holroyd lies half way between Sydney and the Blue Mountains, covering an area of 39.9 square kilometres and located about 20 kilometres west of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and was renamed in 1927 in honour of our first mayor, Arthur Todd Holroyd.

Holroyd Family History Group was formed in 1997, to assist members in researching their family history.

We do not hold particular information on the Holroyd surname - if you are researching the Holroyd name please see our 'Holroyd surname' page.

Meetings are held from 9.30am - 2.30pm on the third Monday of each month in the Multi-purpose Room, 1st floor, Merrylands Library, corner of Miller and Newman Streets, Merrylands. Visitors are warmly welcomed.

The general business meeting is preceded by a talk from a guest speaker or member's contributions. An 'Open Forum'session is held at each meeting for members to ask questions or share their finds.

Our newsletter Holroyd Happenings is published twice yearly in June and December and is issued free to members. We are happy to exchange journals with other groups. Articles from previous issues can be read on the Holroyd Happenings archives pages.

On the second Monday of each month (the week prior to our meeting) our members are volunteers at Merrylands Library from 10am to 12noon to assist members of the public with their family history research.

The multi-purpose meeting room is open each Monday from 10am to 12 noon, for members only use of our research resources.
