CANDIDATES IN FIVE--SIX

RESULTS OF PUBLIC AND HIGH SCHOOL EXAMINATIONS IN THE PROVINCE.

Edmonton, July 30.-- The board of examiners who have had charge of the correction of the examination papers of the candidates writing for diplomas in standards five and six of the public and high schools of Alberta, have completed their labor and the results have been approved by the department of education. The results for standards seven and eight were published Monday. Deputy Minister Mackenzie stated that successful candidates in standards seven and eight desirous of attending the provincial normal school  during the coming term should place their applications with  the department of education at once. The department has already received a large number of applications from other provinces, but does not desire to exclude any Alberta students who may desire their professional training in their own province. The normal school opens Aug. 21.
