St. Mary's is mainly 14th C and was consecrated in 1315. It has 15th C additions. The church was restored by Niblett circa 1850 and also in 1868-70 by Henry Woodyer, who lengthened the chancel. The west tower was rebuilt in 1735 retaining the Perp style. It has three stages, with diagonal buttresses topped by crocketed pinnacles and joined by an open panelled embattled parapet. Within the church there is a nave of four bays and north and south aisles and 14th C arcades with octagonal piers. Chapels were added to the east end of both aisles in the 15th C. The south porch with a chamber over it is 14th C. The font is one of six similar Romanesque lead fonts surviving in Gloucestershire, the product of an Anglo-Norman school, possibly working locally, in the third quarter of the 12th C. There is stained glass in the church by Clayton & Bell. There are recumbent stone effigy monuments in the church.
