WSGS Local Speakers Directory

The Local Speakers Directory is an ongoing project of the Washington State Genealogical Society Education Committee. This list is specifically designed to help your society find speakers from within Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. While there is a wealth of knowledgeable genealogical speakers throughout the US and Canada, the local society program chair is looking for someone locally who can speak for a nominal amount. We have attempted to identify those who are willing to share their knowledge with your society.

We have also included ideas for programs which do not require speakers, or programs that use speakers from other related fields that should be available locally. We hope these will be valuable ideas for the Program Chairperson in your society.

If your society is seeking a speaker of national prominence for a seminar or conference please refer to our National Speakers page which provides links to web pages that list national speakers. These links should provide an excellent speaker for any genealogical topic.

We want to encourage speakers from throughout the state to add their names to our database. You can e-mail our WSGS Education Chair to add your name if you lecture yourself, or to suggest someone you are aware of that might be interested in being added to our directory.

Last of all, we have included some suggestions for making your speaker feel welcome. Hopefully by following these guildelines, you will have a successful program and your speaker will want to return and speak again!

We would like to thank all of those who have chosen to put their names on the list. The greater the participation, the more valuable the tool becomes!
