Purposes of the Washington State Genealogical Society
- WSGS
- is a combination of individual members and local, county and regional genealogical organizations who share by newsletter, information about genealogical activities and resources.
- WSGS
- promotes the preservation of and access to public and private genealogical and historical information.
- WSGS
- sponsors an annual genealogical conference with nationally known speakers and mini sessions.
- WSGS
- issues a Washington State Pioneer Certificate to all who can prove their ancestor lived in the Territory of Washington before 11 November 1889. (Click on Projects link at left)
- WSGS
- has Regional Representatives in each of its eight regions and conducts workshops and seminars in those regions.
- WSGS
- publishes a bi-monthly newsletter and annual journal of state and national research information and a directory of members.
