Hello, I'm Susan Davis Faulkner,
your new Benton County USGenWeb Coordinator. When I saw that April was putting
this site up for adoption, I was concerned. She has done a wonderful job and
cares about research in this area. The shoes she would leave behind would be big
shoes to fill. After thinking about it, I decided I was up to the challenge.
April has allowed me time to take on this responsibility slowly. Benton County, Washington
is located in the Southeastern corner of Washington State. It is bordered on the
west by Klickitat and
Yakima Counties, on
the north by Grant
County, Benton County's largest
cities are Kennewick and Richland. Together with Pasco Benton County is also
home to part of the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. This page is part of the
USGenWeb Project. If you would like to
contribute your data or create a county page within Washington State, please
contact Mike
Sweeney. You are our 43057 visitor since January 10, 1997!
Thank you for visiting please come back soon! Thanks to April Brown, past
Benton County Coordinator 1997-2007
I
became the Franklin County USGenWeb Coordinator in 2003. As I have researched
information for Franklin County, I have also found information for Benton
County. This is largely due to the fact that the highest populated area of each
county is where these two counties meet; the TriCities. Activity in one county
can not help but impact the neighboring county, and the history of these
counties reflects this story.
I will be adding, updating, and altering
this site slowly as I put my own touches and style to the information April has
already made available. If you have questions or items you would like me to add,
please contact me at denmother4@hotmail.com.
A little about
Benton County:
on the east by Franklin and Walla Walla Counties and
on the south by Umatilla County in
Oregon State.
(found across the
Columbia River in Franklin County) these
three cities are also known as the Tri-Cities.
