Books
have been published for many of the towns, and more are planned. The
Project is still all done by volunteers.
When project volunteers record a cemetery,
location of individual graves is scrupulously
noted. Graves were
moved usually due to the breakup of farms for housing or roads or because
a family desired to move their dead to a more upscale cemetery.The new locations
of most of the moved cemeteries/graves are known. Most of the completely
"missing" cemeteries consisted of a handful of stones.
