The Society was organized in 1964 by several eager people who wanted to collect and publish the basic birth, marriage, burial, and earliest land ownership records of Wayne county. We now have about 200 members still working on more records and answering queries.
The genealogy collection, at the Wayne County Public Library, has some 2820 volumes, 3900 I.G.I. fiche and 661 rolls of microfilm. Staff members will help you by phone at (330) 262-0916 ext. 225.
Meetings are held the 1st Saturday of each month, at 2 p.m., except July and December. All meetings are held at the Wayne County Public Library, Corner N. Market St. & Larwill St., Wooster, Ohio, unless otherwise announced. Ample free parking next to the library.
