The State Library of Ohio's genealogy collection is comprised of over 17,000 books, 6,000 microfilms and 10,000 microfiche. It is open for unrestricted use by the public during normal business hours. Two computer workstations provide access to the library catalog, the internet and several CD-ROM databases. Two photocopiers and eleven microform reader-printers are also available for public use. Copies of both microform and print documents cost just $.10 per page. In addition, arrangement of the collection by geographical area, subject and family surname facilitates browsing of the open stacks. The library contains a broad spectrum of genealogical resources including census data, county records, cemetery books, military rosters, how-to books and family histories. Genealogy materials do not circulate and are not available for interlibrary loan.
