Pioneer Physician & Midwife Database

The purpose of this database is to compile information on the early medical practitioners in American pioneer communities (pre-1920), including doctors, nurses, midwives, and healers. This will allow researchers to track the early physicians from village to village, county to county, and state to state. Bountiful sources exist in the county and township histories at our local libraries. Please help build this database. Thank you.
