Tri-Counties Site and its Resources
This Chemung County entry page is one of three county level pages that lead to the main site under the umbrella of Tri-Counties Genealogy & History by Joyce M. Tice . It is on the main site that you will find 16,000 pages of resource material. That includes Bible records, cemetery and census records, obituaries and other clippings, transcribed vital records [births, deaths, marriages] and far more than you could ever imagine without going in for your own look at it..
The site can be navigated EASILY from the Current What's New page. Once you reach the New page that the link takes you to, you have to click on the current month - whatever that may be when you do this. There you will find one sidebar arranged alphabetically by subject and another arranged alphabetically by the 80 Towns and Townships that comprise the three counties. Each township page is in itself an entire site with all pages relating to that area linked from it in a standard subject-level structure.
The Current What's New page is also where you will find the PICO search engine that is partitioned so you can search just individual categories such as Bible Records or Obituaries for burials in Chemung County. Or you can search the whole site if you are up for the many hundreds of hits 16,000 pages can give you.
Take your time to learn the efficient structure of the site before you waste time thrashing aimlessly. The path is well lighted if you will follow the aids to guide you.
