The Hampton Roads Chapter of the United Daughters of the War of 1812
held their organizing meeting Saturday, June 14th, 1986 in
The meeting was called to order by the president, Madeline Williams.
Mrs. Harry H Black the state president was present and presented the
charter.
The
name Hampton Roads was chosen as the first members were from the Hampton
Roads area.
Now the members are from the Hampton Roads area up to Alexandria Va.
