Welcome to Franklin County, Indiana Genealogy

In June, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Indiana Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Indiana, where collected databases would be stored. In addition the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even an individual were found in more, they could be located in the index. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

My name is Randy Klemme. This is my second go-round as Franklin County Coordinator. I was coordinator from August 97 to March 99 and again from November 8th, 1999 to today. Please feel free to send me your comments or suggestions that you may have regarding this web site. If you have an interest in adopting a county, please contact the state coordinator Debby Beheler.

Franklin County Civil War Vets
This picture was sent in by Michelle Lane of Richmond, Indiana.
It's a picture of Franklin County Civil War Veterans.  Little is known about when and where the
picture was taken or who many of the veterans are.  The only two known are
Andrew J. Alley, fourth from the left and his brother John is holding the flag.
Are any others known or any other details?
