FRANZ C. BEIRNBRAUER

April 23, 1870, Franz C. Beirnbrauer, son of Anton and Julie M. (Roark) Beirnbrauer, was born in Winchester. His father was born in the Province of Baden Baden, Germany, April 26, 1838; he came to the United States in 1858, and to Winchester, April 14, 1864. April 19, 1865, he was married to Miss Julie M. Roark, daughter of Timothy and Mary Roark, and to them two children were born, Franz and Bertha, now Mrs. Oscar Ruetchke. He worked at his trade (Tailor) until 1869 when he went into the business, which he conducted until his death, December, 3, 1898.

Franz Beirnbrauer was educated in the Winchester schools and was early put to the bench by his father to learn the tailor's trade - and he learned it well. He applied himself patiently and painstakingly to every detail, and for several years before his father's death was associated with him in the business. After the death of his father he managed the business and successfully conducted it for the heirs until January 2, 1902, when the estate was settled, he purchased the interest of his mother and sister in the business and has since that time conducted it in his own name.

February 12, 1890, Mr. Beirnbrauer was married to Lillie B. Coats. She was born at Glasgow. Mr. And Mrs. Beirnbrauer have one child, Freddie C.

Franz Beirnbrauer is a member of the Christian church. For one term he was treasurer of the city of Winchester. He is a member of the Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias and the Woodmen. He is one of the bright, progressive, enterprising young business men of Winchester and is thoroughly abreast of the times. "Perfect Satisfaction" is his motto, and in all he does, lives well to the rule. The name Beirnbrauer has been a household word, since 1869, with tasty dressers in Scott county, and the son is more than maintaining the reputation established by the father in a business career covering nearly forty years. Franz Beirnbrauer is popular, is well liked, and is constantly adding new recruits to his already extensive list of friends and acquaintances.
