This listing of burials, initially compiled by Marlene Parizek & Mary Lou Wilson, and updated in September, 2000 by Marilyn Henderson & Pam  Schnittjer has been donated for our use by the staff of the West Liberty Public Library.  The following note accompanied the data and offers explanation of certain notations within the data.

Hello Susie,

Volunteers at the West Liberty Public Library have been working on varoius cemetery records to get them as complete and correct as possible.  We recently found a map for North Prairie Cemetery that redefines the Old Section.  It wraps around the Middle Section in an L shape, so some stones that were thought to be in the Middle Section are now in the Old Section.  As a result, the North Prairie Cemetery record was completely redone, eliminating the sections and listing all last names in alphabetical order.  Please use the new disk that we are sending.

This record as well as the records for Oak Ridge, South Prairie, and Mt. Calvary Cemeteries were updated and revised in 2000. We had found that the previous records had a number of errors in names and dates.  On the new records, if we didn't have a birth date, a ? may be in that blank and perhaps an age if we knew that.  If we didn't know a death date, a ? is in the blank.  If the death date has no entry, chances are that person is still living, but a stone marker is in place.  Hope this clears any confusion that may arise.
