      Family History Fair

In cooperation with the LDS Family History Center (FHC) in Palm City, MCGS cosponsors an annual family history fair. This popular event is usually held at the FHC Recreation Room on Mattheson Avenue, Palm City, FL.  Attendance is free and open to all.  The next fair will be held 20 Jan 2007 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.  For further information, contact:  Walt Bruetsch (772) 220-1638 or Don Herzig (772) 398-9329.  Additional information is also available at http://rootsweb.com/~flmcgs/educproject/fair2007.htm

      Important Information

I personally don't have much in the way of resources in my home library of specific information on Martin County, but I can offer you the means whereby you can search out and find other researchers and resources who do have what you're looking for.  I plan to add more information to this site as often as time allows me.  Then again, I'm sure our query and surname database (located on Rootsweb) and our lookup volunteers will grow by "leaps and bounds," thereby providing us with more individuals to interact with online.

Why have I have chosen to use the boards hosted by Rootsweb?  For two main reasons:  (1) your queries and data are posted instantly; you don't have to wait for me to find the time to post them on this website, and (2) all boards are indexed in a searchable, nationwide database; the chances of your relatives and "cousins" finding your query(ies) are much better.

We're looking for volunteers who would like to donate time and/or information to build this site into one of the best resource tools for Florida research.  We're always in need of volunteers who are willing to help and you do not need to be a resident of Florida to be a volunteer.  Why not join us?  If you would like to pitch in and assist in this endeavor, e-mail me!

      Personal Research Statement

Please do not ask me to do any personal research!!!  -- I will not accept any requests to conduct personal research!  Although I am a resident of Martin County, FL, I am not a native nor do I have ancestors who resided here.  I will, however, do lookups in many resources that are available in the Martin County Library System and through the Martin County Genealogical Society's extensive collection, and I hope to recruit many volunteers to assist in this endeavor.  Keep checking the Lookups page periodically for new volunteers and resources.

A tremendous amount of information is available online through the efforts of some very wonderful volunteers and I will make every effort to continue adding new material to these pages.  There are also many professional genealogists, many of whom are listed online, who will be happy to conduct your personal research for you - albeit at a fee.  Your understanding and cooperation is very much appreciated in this matter.
