"The Family True." James J. Jackson & Catherine M. Murray January 28, 2001. This is the family of Henry True and Israel Pike of Salem, MA. There are over 18,000 names connected to the couple. The book includes much of the work of Charles Wesley True. Charlie's books are no longer available. He sent copies of his books to be included in this book and in the sequel currently in progress. That in turn means that most of the work of Dr. Henry A. True of Marion, Ohio published in 1890, is also included. Besides the list of names, there are many biographies of family members which include many who helped expand the country's movement westward and those who influenced the government in the colonies. The most famous of the cousins is Alan Bartlett Shepard. There is also a lengthly discussion of the Salem Witch trials, as one of the family members was convicted, but not hanged nor burned, as a witch. The book was privately printed and distributed to family members. Over 250 copies were ordered. Many copies have ended up in libraries and with historical societies, primarily in New England. Copies are available at the LDS in Salt Lake City and at the Library of Congress in DC. I will be happy to look up any of the 18,000 names for you, and/or if you have an ancestor who has a biography in the book, I can print it and mail it to you. CMM

This informative family history begins in 1060 AD in The Netherlands with about 12 generations before the immigration of Claes Corneliussen van Kat to Nieuw Amsterdam in 1662. --- 3 vol; 300 pages; indexed; handtyped on onionskin paper it took 40 years to compile. --- Volume One follows the oldest son, Cornelius van Kat, Volume Two follows Johanne van Kat, and Volume Three follows David van Kat. There are approximately 4 - 5,000 persons mentioned. Many sources and documents are credited as well as genealogists who assisted in the research. Although the index is not totally accurate nor complete, I will attempt to find a given family within the genealogy. I must have all known names, dates, and locations as far back as possible to do a thorough search. If I can place a descendant within this work I will send the relevant data to the family via a mutually agreed upon means. I cannot copy the entire work. CVC
