PHILLIPS COUNTY

In March and April 1996, a group of genealogists organized the Kentucky Comprehensive Genealogy Database. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all counties in Kentucky, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked so that even if an individual was found in more than one county, he/she could be located in the index. This idea has been expanded, includes all areas of the United States, and became the USGenWeb Project. At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page.

My name is Paige Achord and I am the County Coordinator for the Phillips County Web pages. If you have any suggestions or material to add, please email me at paige_achord@yahoo.com

Query posted by Joanne Smith Wright on Tuesday, July 18, 2006:
Have the cemeteries been copied for Phillips? I am interested in burials of ELLENBURG.

Phillip ELLENBURG of Alabama settled there and I have been able to find when his wife, Bertha L (VINES) died, which was July, 1980 at Marvel, Phillips, Ark...this date from social security records. This was a very large family. I have them through the 1930 census. In 1930 Phillip was a blacksmith and lived at Hicksville. They first settled in St. Francis County, but was in Phillips in 1920 and 1930. (Listed as Ellenburd re 1930 census)

Where can I obtain a copy of Bertha's obit? I need this information to add to family info buried at Gilliam Springs Baptist Cemetery, Arab, Marshall County, Al. I am a member of the Arab Historical Society and this is a project I hope they will publish.

Any help will be appreciated.

Jackie Hart Stegeman posted a query 21 June 2001 wanting to know who the wife of John JAVENS was and if he ever lived in Texas.

How can I get in touch with her?

John JAVENS was born 12 June 1895 in Fulton Co., AR and died August 1973 in Elaine, Phillips Co., AR.

I would like to know if he has any descendants in Elaine, Phillips Co., AR.
