Chilton County Mailing list

ALCHILTO  A mailing list for Baker which became Chilton County,Al.

The (-L) is list mode and means you will receive each message individually as opposed to (-D ) digest mode in which you will receive
several messages combined into one. I prefer digests but it's a personal preference
To switch from one mode to the other, unsubscribe from one and then subscribe to the other. There is no "no mail" mode -- if you
want messages to stop, you should simply unsubscribe.

Normally to subscribe to rootsweb lists you are instructed to send the message subscribe  and nothing else, however if you have signature
files turned off clicking the link below will generate the appropriate message which you only need to send.
This will eliminate mail bounced to me due to typo's I hope.
If you don't know how to turn off signature files you can delete everything after subscribe.
No subject is necessary but you may send one if your software requires it.

Rootsweb will return all mail that include attachments or are not in plain text format.
You should always turn off HTML or RTF if your email is set for it when writing the list, if you don't know how please see this webpage.

Some people have had problems with the links above, most have not. If they don't work for you try using the directions below.
You can also email me and I will manually handle your request.

Subcription/unsubscription/info requests should always be sent to the -request
address of a mailinglist.

To subscribe to a mailinglist, simply send a message with the word "subscribe"
in the body of a message to the -request address of that list.

As in:          To: ALCHILTO-request@rootsweb.com
                Subject:

                subscribe

To unsubscribe from a mailinglist, simply send a message with the word (you
guessed it :-) "unsubscribe" in the body of a message to the -request address
of that list.

As in:          To: ALCHILTO-request@rootsweb.com
                Subject:

                unsubscribe

IMPORTANT DETAIL: signatures confuse SmartList.  If you can, send the commands
with *NO* signature following the body of the message.
