Are you interested in family history and have roots in Autauga, Elmore, or Chilton counties in Alabama? We would like to invite you to join the Autauga Genealogical Society (AGS).

Our objective is to promote, collect and preserve the genealogy and history of Autauga County. We have an extensive collection of information housed in the Alabama Room of the Autauga-Prattville Public Library. Much of this data is also available on-line. We encourage you to send us your family charts and data so that they can be shared with your fellow researchers.

With the exception of December, meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month 2 PM at the Peoples Bank & Trust downtown with programs on local and Southern history, genealogy, and culture. Visitors are always welcome.

AGS membership costs $20 per household and includes:

Hope to see you at our next meeting!

"In all of us there is a hunger, marrow deep, to know our heritage-- to know who we are and where we came from. Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life, there is still a vacuum, an emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness"
